"Cycling is the new golf." That was in some article or other; now there's a marketing idea. What functions does golf fulfill? SOcial, personal whatever? Could cycling do it? Can you picture execs tooling around... yes, I could, though it's hard to say whether they would deign to do things on public roads as opposed to exclusive golf courts.

Wow, that's totally unlike the Urbana I knew 10 years ago. People on practical commuter bikes, even!
Execs tool around on public roads in Colorado and California -- they'll get together on group rides and go for 50 miles or whatever. I've been on group rides like that with doctors and lawyers and trash haulers. It's a great way to socialize.
